Mixed use scheme to create new rural convenience store, car servicing garage and residential accommodation - Threshfield, Yorkshire Dales National Park
Situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, this project required a sensitive design approach. The existing site housed a fuel filling station and car servicing garage which offered little to its spectacular surroundings. The brief was to redevelop the site with two new structures, one being a car servicing garage and the other being a local convenience store selling local fresh produce. The design echoed that of the local farm buildings, with dual pitched roofs and Yorkshire timber vertical boarding. The lower section is dressed in random coursed stone, again to reflect the local area. The first floor element to the convenience store is utilised as residential properties, these are accessed via roof terraces which fully exploit there elevated view of the scenery.
